2017 MANTRA: STOP WHINING--START WINNING!!!!

At the Northeast Learning Center, we are looking forward to our most successful year to date of helping students earn their equivalency diploma. This is a quick fix to a long-term problem for many people who need to get that piece of paper to be successful.

We have new classes starting in January for the morning, evening, and weekend time slots. We are having so much more success now that we can have students test for each test as they finish the coursework. This way the information is fresh in their minds allowing them to focus on the next subject.

If you want success and need it quickly, this is the Center to come to. Come visit us and talk to our students. See copies of their diplomas hanging on our walls. Yours could be the next one there!

Morning classes are January 5, 2017.

Weekend classes are January 7, 2017.

Evening classes are January 11, 2017.

Call today to come in for a visit. As for me, Bonnie Kaye, the director or leave me a message. I will be happy to answer all of your questions. 215-745-0141.

Happy holidays. Make this your mantra for next year: Stop Whining--Start Winning!!!

OUR STUDENTS ARE PASSING THE NEW GED TEST! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Now that we are in our second year of the new 2014 GED Test, we are proud to say that we have students passing every week. This is wonderful because the new test is so difficult, that very few people in the City are passing.

Passing the GED Test is possible--if you DO what we tell you to do. Those people who are passing all had one thing in common--dedication. They came to class every time, they were there on time or early, and THEY STUDIED EVERY DAY. They came in for extra math support on Saturdays and do all of the homework. So yes, in a few short weeks it is possible because now it is happening often.

Our program teaches you how to pass the new GED Test--but you have to give us 100% just for a few weeks. We have morning, evening, and weekend classes available to fit almost everyone's needs.

So call us at 215-745-0141 for more information. Or feel free to visit our office to talk about it. Today getting a GED is not an option--it's a necessity to move on in life.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT???

Everyone who comes to our GED Program comes because without a diploma, LIFE IS GOING NOWHERE!!!

Today getting a diploma--which is also called a GED--is more challenging than ever. Yes, the test changed--but guess what? Our students are learning to pass the test. That is our only goal here at the Northeast GED Center. When you walk into our classroom, you will see a poster saying that because that is our only concern--our students becoming graduates.

Our program works for students who are motivated and want to do this quickly with a minimum amount of stress. We know what we're doing--and we do it quickly and successfully.

We have new classes starting for the morning on May 1. That means that you can be a high school grad by the beginning of July. That will allow you to enroll for college, career school, or get a better job.  Yes, you are weeks away from moving to your next step in life.
Call me at 215-745-0141 to get your key to your next step. Make your life go SOMEWHERE!!!

ONE CHANCE LEFT TO PASS THE GED TEST!!

We are starting emergency classes in December that will still give you enough time to pass the GED Test before it changes. We are running our "boot camp" model for two weeks during the morning and evening to make sure people have enough time to test and even re-test if necessary.

Classes start on December 9, 2013. Morning classes are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - noon. Evening classes are Monday through Thursday from
5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday afternoons from 12 - 3 p.m. The classes last for two weeks. Our Center is working with Harambee Charter School to make sure that testing is available when the class is completed.

Class size is limited, so please call as soon as possible for more information. After January, the test changes. It becomes computer only, the content is college level which requires far more studying than now, and the cost of the GED Test will nearly double. You still have a chance to be a high school graduate by December 31, 2013. Call us today at 215-745-0141. It's now or maybe never!!!

HURRY, HURRY, HURRY!!!

There is still time to take classes and pass the GED Test before the end of the year. To help people, we are starting additional classes throughout October, November, and even the beginning of December to help as many people as possible. Special classes to help people who have failed certain sections of the GED Test will also be available.
Remember--after January 1, 2014, it's a new GED Test. It's a test that no one can figure out how to pass yet, but we will keep trying. Just know it will be much, much more difficult, on the computer only, and more money.
It's not too late. Call me at 215-745-0141to find a spot now in an upcoming class.

WARNING!!! IT'S NOW OR MAYBE NEVER!!!

WARNING!!THE TIME FOR GETTING YOUR GED IS RUNNING OUT! THIS MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE!

THE GED TEST CHANGES JANUARY 1, 2014

In a report published this April, the statistics show that 90% of all jobs nation-wide now require a high school diploma or GED. Without it, you will not qualify to apply. You'll be locked out of college, career and trades schools, and job promotions.

If you haven't taken your GED Test yet, your opportunity to become a high school graduate may soon be gone forever. Why? The GED Test is changing in January 2014. If you don't pass it now,  your chance of passing it in the  future is questionable.

Why? The content in the new test is almost impossible. Only some of the questions will be multiple choice. The other questions will require you to know the answers. You will have to analyze reading passages and do critical writing. You will have to map out science experiments using the provided complicated data. Instead of 4 weeks, our program will change to 4 months, and the price will go from $150.00 to $450.00. The GED testing will be done on a computer. The price is going to go from $75.00 to $150.00.
If you haven't taken your GED Test yet, there is still a short amount of time for you to take control of your life. For October and November, we are providing 4-week classes in the morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend to accommodate the large numbers of people who know this is their last chance.

If you don't want to take the class, we have a staff of excellent tutors for math, advanced math, reading, and writing the essay.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Even though the test changes in January, the testing centers will be filled in just a few more weeks.  CALL US TODAY!

If you start next week, you'll be ready to test in July. Call us at 215-745-0141. By the way, I read a report today that stated 90% of all jobs require a GED. That means in the future, your chances for getting employment will be slim to none. CHANGE YOUR LIFE TODAY!!!!!

THE NEW TEST---DANGER AHEAD

I never felt quite as discouraged as I feel at this moment about the GED Test changing in 2014. I have reviewed some of the sample questions, and quite honestly, I doubt I could pass the Math Test and Science Tests. That is why this is the last chance for people who don't want to be in long-term study programs to get their GED.

Right now, most people can pass the GED Test without much knowledge in social studies or science. That will definitely be a major change next year. Also a major change will be that some of the questions require you to analyze a passage and write how you would proceed with a scientific experiement. This means you will have to study a great deal. It also means our program will be changing to align with the new test. Students will have to double their classroom time and fees for the program after January 1, 2014.

If you have limited computer experience, after this year you will have to brush up or learn computer skills because the GED Test will only be available on the computer. And once the Test is only on the computer, the price will go from $75.00 to $150.00.

Now is the time to get to a class and get this behind you. In the future, for some people, it will be impossible. We all know that today without a GED, life is going NOWHERE. Call us at 215-745-0141 to get started today! Bonnie Kaye, Director

WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER MY GED?

Each week, we get wonderful phone calls from our students who have passed the GED Test. Getting that piece of paper in their hands changes their whole outlook on life. But now what?

Most people who attend our GED program are looking forward to a "next step." They either want to start a career, change careers, find jobs, or be promoted at their job. Without the GED, that has been impossible.

Moving to the next step can be scary if you don't have guidance along the way. Sadly, people make some bad decisions about schools based on fancy advertisements in the media. As the director here at the Center, I sit with any student who is ready to take that next step and discuss what steps are needed to achieve it. I'm always happy to do vocational counseling with our students to help them achieve their goals. For instance, one young woman tole me she wanted to be a legal secretary. She was so bright and positive. I really explored with her what her real dreams were. She always wanted to be an attorney, but she believed that would be impossible. After spending several hours together, we devised a "game plan" of how to quick step over some of the schooling she would need and she enrolled in college. Now, seven years later, she is a practicing attorney. She always tells me each year at the holiday time how grateful she is to me for not allowing her to settle on a career which wasn't her goal. She just didn't know how to go about following her dream.

I am happy to work with any student who has a dream in finding the quickest and best way to get there--whether it is a career school or college.

In my next blog, I will discuss some of the things that worry students in taking those next steps--and how I, too, overcame them!
Remember--getting a diploma is just a few weeks away at the Northeast GED Center.

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

Welcome to our Northeast GED Center blog. The Northeast GED Center is located in Northeast Philadelphia. It is a unique program because it's fast, effective, and successful for most of the students who are part of our program.

This program is unique because it teaches students the skills needed to pass the GED Test in only 4 weeks or 4 weekends. During the week, students come to school three times a week for 4 weeks; on the weekends they come for 4 weekends on both Saturday and Sunday.

Our Center prepares students to pass the test over 30 hours. We also offer 8 extra weeks of math tutoring on Saturday mornings to all of our enrolled students.

In the upcoming weeks, we will answer some of the most asked questions by potentional or enrolled students. Please check back here often and frequently to get updates and information. We are here to see your success in life.
