NEW ROLLING ADMIISSIONS FOR CLASSES MEANS LESS WAIT TIME FOR YOU!!!

Dear Friends,
With the start of 2017, we now offer "rolling admissions." The Northeast Learning Center boasts the most flexible schedule in the city--morning, evening, and weekend classes. But sometimes a weekend class starts and it is nearly two months until the new one begins.

The good news is that we now have rolling admissions. What this means is that you can start part-way through the program if we have an available slot. Our usual order of courses is Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Math. If you missed the Language Arts classes, you can start with the Social Studies and just keep going until you complete the full circle. That means you can get started sooner and finish up more quickly/

As a testing center, we encourage people to take a test every time they finish a course so the information is still fresh in their mnds. But you can take the test whenever you feel you are ready. There is no time limit!

April/May classes are now enrolling, so if you're interested call me at 215-745-0141. Your greatest chance of passing in the shortest amount of time is in our program!!!

2017 MANTRA: STOP WHINING--START WINNING!!!!

At the Northeast Learning Center, we are looking forward to our most successful year to date of helping students earn their equivalency diploma. This is a quick fix to a long-term problem for many people who need to get that piece of paper to be successful.

We have new classes starting in January for the morning, evening, and weekend time slots. We are having so much more success now that we can have students test for each test as they finish the coursework. This way the information is fresh in their minds allowing them to focus on the next subject.

If you want success and need it quickly, this is the Center to come to. Come visit us and talk to our students. See copies of their diplomas hanging on our walls. Yours could be the next one there!

Morning classes are January 5, 2017.

Weekend classes are January 7, 2017.

Evening classes are January 11, 2017.

Call today to come in for a visit. As for me, Bonnie Kaye, the director or leave me a message. I will be happy to answer all of your questions. 215-745-0141.

Happy holidays. Make this your mantra for next year: Stop Whining--Start Winning!!!

OUR SUCCESS WITH THE HISET (HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY TEST)

The HISET (High School Equivalency Test) is gaining more and more fans in Philadelphia. Now that the State of Pennsylvania has offered two different tests for the equivalency diploma, we are thrilled by the success our students are having with the new test instead of the GED. To date, we have an 83% pass rate of our students since we began HISET back in June 2016. So many of our students have had a life change within weeks--and this can be you, too!

Our program works because it is different than others. We teach you the skills needed to pass this test--as well as a college entrance test--in a few short weeks part-time. Our Center has students traveling in from as far as Maryland and New York because of our success--which can be your success as well. Our classes are well organized to help you achieve the results you are looking for--namely the ability to pass the tests and earn your diploma.

Today without a diploma, your life is pretty much stuck where it is. 90% of all jobs require this piece of paper--and with determination and some effort--you can gave yours in just a few short weeks.

We have December day and evening classes starting on December 1, 2016. Our morning classes are only 4 weeks, and our evening classes are less than 5 1/2 weeks. Just think about how wonderful it would be to start your New Year off with a high school diploma!!!

People who dream big keep dreaming, Now it's time to act!! If you are interested in the upcoming December classes, call us at 215-745-0141. The cost of the program is
$190.00 which includes your registration fee,  your specialized textbook, numerous handouts to support the textbook, 40 hours of classroom instruction, plus an extra 14 hours of math support if you need math help. If you miss our December classes, we have new classes for day, evening, or weekends starting in January.

This is the holiday gift you can give to yourself and to your family--a chance for a meaningful future so that you can either get a job or advance at a job and go to college or a career school. You can start moving ahead in your life like hundreds of our students do each year, or you can stay behind and keep dreaming. The choice is yours!

OUR STUDENTS ARE PASSING THE NEW GED TEST! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Now that we are in our second year of the new 2014 GED Test, we are proud to say that we have students passing every week. This is wonderful because the new test is so difficult, that very few people in the City are passing.

Passing the GED Test is possible--if you DO what we tell you to do. Those people who are passing all had one thing in common--dedication. They came to class every time, they were there on time or early, and THEY STUDIED EVERY DAY. They came in for extra math support on Saturdays and do all of the homework. So yes, in a few short weeks it is possible because now it is happening often.

Our program teaches you how to pass the new GED Test--but you have to give us 100% just for a few weeks. We have morning, evening, and weekend classes available to fit almost everyone's needs.

So call us at 215-745-0141 for more information. Or feel free to visit our office to talk about it. Today getting a GED is not an option--it's a necessity to move on in life.

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO BECOME A GRADUATE IN 2014!

Recently a report came out in the news stating that 7,000 students drop out of the Philadelphia high schools each year. 7,000!!! The reality is that many students drop out of school because of the environment and fear of bullying. I know that. These students tell me that when they come to our program. It's not the academics--it's the environment.

If you left school because the pressure of "being there" was too difficult, come join us in a safe and stimulating adult environment that will help you reach your goal of getting a diploma. We have day classes starting on November 6th. By the end of the month, you can be ready to take the test that will change your life. We also have evening classes starting on November 25th. You can become a high school graduate in early January!

Determination, hard work, and dedication will take you along the road to success. If you have tried and failed before, pick yourself up and try again! We are here for you!

I'M SO EXCITED--AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!!

Our students are passing the test--and I'm thrilled! I wasn't feeling very optimistic when the test changed on January 1, but now my mood is improving each week as we find the "key" to success. And guess what? We are obviously learning!

Our Center gives students extra time for extra study including additional Saturday mornings for math. Our newly developed materials have made a difference in showing students what to do to pass the test. Today without your GED, life is going NOWHERE.

If you have tried before but failed, don't let that stop you from trying again. We know that all adults have problems that can become overwhelming, but that will pass and you'll still have nothing without that piece of paper.

Feel free to join our GEDPhilly.com Facebook page to keep in tune with our success. Even if you aren't one of our students, you can join and be part of our family.

We have new evening, morning, and weekend classes coming up in the next few weeks, so you have time left to start college or career school in September. You can join our team of GED coaches and earn yours in just a few short weeks.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT???

Everyone who comes to our GED Program comes because without a diploma, LIFE IS GOING NOWHERE!!!

Today getting a diploma--which is also called a GED--is more challenging than ever. Yes, the test changed--but guess what? Our students are learning to pass the test. That is our only goal here at the Northeast GED Center. When you walk into our classroom, you will see a poster saying that because that is our only concern--our students becoming graduates.

Our program works for students who are motivated and want to do this quickly with a minimum amount of stress. We know what we're doing--and we do it quickly and successfully.

We have new classes starting for the morning on May 1. That means that you can be a high school grad by the beginning of July. That will allow you to enroll for college, career school, or get a better job.  Yes, you are weeks away from moving to your next step in life.
Call me at 215-745-0141 to get your key to your next step. Make your life go SOMEWHERE!!!

It's DO-ABLE!!!

It's been a while since I've written. I didn't want to give you incorrect information--so I have waited. I was really pessimistic about the new test--and I still am--but NOT FOR OUR STUDENTS. Our students are PASSING!!

We have spent every day studying this new test. We know what is on it--and we know how to teach you to PASS it! Is it easy? Absolutely NOT--but it is "do-able"! If you do what we tell you to do, you can in many cases be a graduate in just a few short weeks. It takes dedication, maturity, and studying every single day. But big deal. Most of you think you are going to college or trade school--and then you'll have to study hours every day--not just for an hour.

We have learned some subject matter on the test from our students who are willing to share. We have a Facebook page to give support and information to our students. Some of our students didn't pass a test the first time, but guess what? They passed it the second time.

Thanks to the Northeast Regional Library, we were able to set up weekly computer classes to help our students get familiar with the computer skills needed for the test. We have been blessed by wonderful tutors and teachers who give extra time to our students.

So yes--we can help you get that "gold key" that will unlock the door to your future. You just have to really, really want it. If you do, call us. We'll be waiting for you!

WARNING!!! IT'S NOW OR MAYBE NEVER!!!

WARNING!!THE TIME FOR GETTING YOUR GED IS RUNNING OUT! THIS MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE!

THE GED TEST CHANGES JANUARY 1, 2014

In a report published this April, the statistics show that 90% of all jobs nation-wide now require a high school diploma or GED. Without it, you will not qualify to apply. You'll be locked out of college, career and trades schools, and job promotions.

If you haven't taken your GED Test yet, your opportunity to become a high school graduate may soon be gone forever. Why? The GED Test is changing in January 2014. If you don't pass it now,  your chance of passing it in the  future is questionable.

Why? The content in the new test is almost impossible. Only some of the questions will be multiple choice. The other questions will require you to know the answers. You will have to analyze reading passages and do critical writing. You will have to map out science experiments using the provided complicated data. Instead of 4 weeks, our program will change to 4 months, and the price will go from $150.00 to $450.00. The GED testing will be done on a computer. The price is going to go from $75.00 to $150.00.
If you haven't taken your GED Test yet, there is still a short amount of time for you to take control of your life. For October and November, we are providing 4-week classes in the morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend to accommodate the large numbers of people who know this is their last chance.

If you don't want to take the class, we have a staff of excellent tutors for math, advanced math, reading, and writing the essay.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Even though the test changes in January, the testing centers will be filled in just a few more weeks.  CALL US TODAY!

WARNING!! PASS THE GED TEST NOW OR MAYBE NEVER

Do you realize that your chances of earning you GED may be impossible after January 1, 2014? Do you realize that the new test is computer based only and you need keyboarding skill? Do you know that as of January, the GED Test will be $150.00 instead of the current $75.00? Most importantly, do you realize that the new GED Test will take at least 3 months of study from us as opposed to 4 weeks meaning we will have to charge triple the money for classes? If that's not bad enough, the content will require hours of studying every day like a college program.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? A report from 3 months ago stated that 90% of all jobs require a high school diploma or GED.Where will that leave you now or in the future? You are LOCKING YOURSELF OUR OF SUCCESS if you don't get a GED.

Invest in your future by signing up TODAY!!! We have morning, evening, and weekend classes. We have the highest pass rate in the city! Our course includes 8 additional Saturday mornings for any student who needs extra math support.

One last thing--our program costs money. But if your education isn't worth $3.00 an hour, then you are not serious about passing the GED Test. Our students PASS THE TEST because we know exactly what to teach them in the shortest amount of time possible. Call us today before you lose out on your chances to become a high school grad. Call 215-745-0141. Get serious now. Time is running out! Bonnie Kaye - Director

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO GET A DIPLOMA

I can't emphasize enough how difficult it will be to get a GED after this year because the whole content of the GED Test is changing. So many people are thinking, "Well, I still have a half year before they change the GED Test." That is FAULTY THINKING!

Here is the reality. Last year, when the GED Test was supposed to change over to computer only, the GED Testing Centers were jammed in by November. And at that time, there was also an extra testing site in Bucks County that is no longer there. Now with the "no choice 2014" plan, if you don't have a reservation for the GED Test by October, your chances of taking this version of the test are very slim.

The time to act is NOW. We are preparing intensive training from July until November by offering as many possible "boot camps" during the summer months as possible. Our boot camps prepare you to take the test in 2 weeks, but you must attend daily for 3 hours a day.

Those of you who do not have good computer skills will have to first learn how to use a computer before you take the new GED Test. That will delay your diploma much longer. That is why it is urgent to do this NOW while you can. Call us today at 215-745-0141 to see how you can get that piece of paper that will change your life. Time is running out!

Times Running Out for Paper Testing

This is a reminder that if you want to take the test in Philadelphia using a paper and pencil rather than on a computer, your time is running out. By January 1, all testing will be done on the computer. This means extra anxiety for some people and extra money for everyone! Now is the best time to start classes so you can take the GED Test before it changes. New classes start for the morning, afternoon, and evening next week. Call us to set up an appointment to save your seat! Without your GED, remember--Life is going nowhere! Bonnie Kaye, Director

DREAM LAW - GET LEGAL!

It's so sad that there are so many people who are caught in the web of not being legal. This applies to people who came here when they were children but their parents were not registered aliens. And so now they are here as adults and illegal, even though it wasn't their choice to be here. A new law has now gone into effect that will allow nearly 2 million people under the age of 31 to have the opportunity to become LEGAL if they have a high school diploma. For many people, this is the key to getting a driver's license, social security card, and application for citizenship. The Northeast GED Center is now registering a number of people with this problem so they can quickly get their GED and apply for legal status. If you know someone in this situation, you can have them call us and GET REGISTERED so they can GET LEGAL! Hope is there for those who are smart enough to take advantage of it. Our September morning, afternoon, and evening classes are gearing up, so give a call or visit us as soon as possible to register and save a seat. As of September, our prices are now $150.00, but that includes a $15.00 registration fee. Seats are filling up super fast, so don't wait too long! Bonnie Kaye, Director

WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER MY GED?

Each week, we get wonderful phone calls from our students who have passed the GED Test. Getting that piece of paper in their hands changes their whole outlook on life. But now what?

Most people who attend our GED program are looking forward to a "next step." They either want to start a career, change careers, find jobs, or be promoted at their job. Without the GED, that has been impossible.

Moving to the next step can be scary if you don't have guidance along the way. Sadly, people make some bad decisions about schools based on fancy advertisements in the media. As the director here at the Center, I sit with any student who is ready to take that next step and discuss what steps are needed to achieve it. I'm always happy to do vocational counseling with our students to help them achieve their goals. For instance, one young woman tole me she wanted to be a legal secretary. She was so bright and positive. I really explored with her what her real dreams were. She always wanted to be an attorney, but she believed that would be impossible. After spending several hours together, we devised a "game plan" of how to quick step over some of the schooling she would need and she enrolled in college. Now, seven years later, she is a practicing attorney. She always tells me each year at the holiday time how grateful she is to me for not allowing her to settle on a career which wasn't her goal. She just didn't know how to go about following her dream.

I am happy to work with any student who has a dream in finding the quickest and best way to get there--whether it is a career school or college.

In my next blog, I will discuss some of the things that worry students in taking those next steps--and how I, too, overcame them!
Remember--getting a diploma is just a few weeks away at the Northeast GED Center.

To meet the number of people we can't fit into our morning class starting on February 29, we are starting a new class a week later on March 8. WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

Welcome to our Northeast GED Center blog. The Northeast GED Center is located in Northeast Philadelphia. It is a unique program because it's fast, effective, and successful for most of the students who are part of our program.

This program is unique because it teaches students the skills needed to pass the GED Test in only 4 weeks or 4 weekends. During the week, students come to school three times a week for 4 weeks; on the weekends they come for 4 weekends on both Saturday and Sunday.

Our Center prepares students to pass the test over 30 hours. We also offer 8 extra weeks of math tutoring on Saturday mornings to all of our enrolled students.

In the upcoming weeks, we will answer some of the most asked questions by potentional or enrolled students. Please check back here often and frequently to get updates and information. We are here to see your success in life.
